{Dark Sexy Walls}

I love how dark walls make a room feel instantly warm, comfortable and inviting. The complete opposite of some rooms I've seen that are all white. I also love how artwork looks against a dark backdrop. I almost think most art looks better against black. Black is dramatic and daring. It has that forbidden quality, which is irresistible. I think of sexy black negligees and fast black cars. A room painted black is a place where you can tell secrets. The semigloss finish gives it an edge, like patent leather, and makes everything pop. You have to be very confident to use black, and that kind of confidence is very attractive.

{Blooms in a Bag}

I found this great idea at a cute shop called Hey Day in Bozeman. I bought the "Forget me Nots" and so far they are growing like crazy, no blooms yet but the little sprouts have been getting really tall. I think this is such an excellent idea! You don't need a separate planter and you can grow these year round, no need for an outdoor garden. I will take a picture of mine as soon as it starts flowering and post it on my blog!

{my daily horoscope}

Virgo, August 24 to September 22: Lots of indecisive energy is around you, and it could cause some scheduling delays. The good news is these hindrances happen for the best! So if you can be flexible and just go with the flow right now, you will open your life up to more spontaneity and excitement. Let things be messy and imperfect, and you'll enjoy them more. Who cares if you don't have the perfect outfit or you're five minutes late for the movie? Trying to make things flawless is not worth the trouble..

{beautiful atlanta home}

These lovely photos are from a recent issue of Atlanta Homes, I am in love with this beautiful home and the great use of color in every room. This could be one of my favorite homes ever featured in a design magazine. I love how clean and traditional the home feels, it is WONDERFUL! ...makes me want to move to Atlanta!

{ Matt's Graduation Weekend}

Matt had tons of family and friends come out for the weekend of his graduation! My parents came up with me to help me move up and to celebrate with Matt. We had a blast and were super busy the entire time, it was great to be able to meet more of his family and have fun getting to know everyone better. On Sunday we went to Looie's for Mother's Day Brunch, they had an amazing buffet (as you can see!), afterwards 16 of us went to Anaconda, Montana to play 18 holes of golf.

{Cake Boss}

The cupcakes I posted on my blog earlier were a huge hit at Matt's graduation party. Since I have yet to find a job in Bozeman, I have had plenty of extra time on my hands. I found a great book on Cupcakes yesterday and plan to make several different kinds in the near future. Who knows, maybe I will own my own cake shop someday! Don't the cakes in the picture just look delicious! yummy*

{moving day}

This beautiful Tim Walker picture perfectly describes how I have felt the past week. I had to move out of my apartment last Thursday and all of my things and furniture are all packed away in several different locations and I can't find a single thing that I am looking for. However, the madness will be over soon! I am leaving tomorrow morning to head up to Bozeman, Montana to spend a wonderful summer with Matt. I am DYING to be up there, it has been way too long since I last saw him. His graduation is on Saturday and my family is joining me for the trip up there, only for the weekend. I am really excited for his graduation party, and I gave the cupcakes I talked about a few days ago a test drive today, they are WONDERFUL!!! Wish me luck un-packing and hopefully my life will settle down a bit!!

{Banana Cupcakes with Honey Cinnamon Frosting}

Ingredients

Makes 12
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour (spooned and leveled)
3/4 cup sugar
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
1 1/2 cups mashed bananas (about 4 ripe bananas), plus 1 whole banana, for garnish (optional)
2 large eggs
1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
Honey-Cinnamon Frosting

Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line a standard 12-cup muffin pan with paper liners. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
Make a well in center of flour mixture. In well, mix together butter, mashed bananas, eggs, and vanilla. Stir to incorporate flour mixture (do not overmix). Dividing evenly, spoon batter into muffin cups.
Bake until a toothpick inserted in center of a cupcake comes out clean, 25 to 30 minutes. Remove cupcakes from pan; cool completely on a wire rack. Spread tops with
Honey-Cinnamon Frosting. Just before serving, peel and slice banana into rounds, and place one on each cupcake, if desired.

{Summer Time}

It's the first of May and the weekend! Excited about the Spring sunshine, open-toed shoes!, and the luxury of a lazy Sunday morning . . . Ahhhh. . . I miraculously made it through my 3rd year of college! There were more than several times I wondered if I was going to make it to the Summer months alive, but I have done it!!! It has been a very crazy year and I am happy to be moved out of Logan and back in Salt Lake for the week before moving up to Bozeman, Montana for a fun summer with my wonderful boyfriend! My classes this year were a lot of fun, but even more hard work and time consuming than I would have ever imagined. These are a just a few samples of some of my work from the year...
